Bruneian Scholars Celebrated Israk Mikraj in UK

The celebration of the Israk Mikraj by Bruneians last month in the United Kingdom was made the merrier with the conversion of one new Muslim student.
The celebration held in the Brunei Hall, Norfolk Square was attended by Special Guest Dato Paduka Awang Haji Mohamad Roselan bin Haji Mohamad Daud, Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), and Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Brunei High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland.
Also present were other senior officers and students from the Brunei Reading Society (BruKnights).
The celebration included a religious lecture, and the conversion of a student into Islam, a press release said. Awang Muhammad Atiq bin Juani - formerly Awang Najrien bin Juani - is a second-year scholarship student majoring in Food Science at the University of Reading. His conversion was welcomed with Dikir Marhaban and presented with gifts.
The celebration ended with a mass Maghrib prayer and Sunnat Hajat prayer.
