The Aurora University Men's Soccer team traveled to Rockford, Illinois to take the Regents on Tuesday afternoon, defeating the Regents 4-0.

AU pressured Rockford early with two shots on goal just two minutes into game. In the sixth minute AU Alex Pierson screamed one past an outstretched Rockford goalie for a 1-0 AU lead.

Aurora would keep the putting the pressure on but was unable to convert going into halftime leading 1-0. He was assisted by senior
Emmanuel Denton on the play.

The second half was much like the first, AU kept control and kept the heat on the Rockford defense. In the 58th minute
Ian Connelly found himself with the ball in the wide open goal after
Miguel Barajas's previous shot was blocked, Connelly converted and extended the lead to 2-0.Â
Just five minutes after the Connelly goal, AU was granted a corner kick,
Alex Brunell rocketed the ball just infront of the goal where it hit off of
Miguel Barajas and landed right in front of AU's
Kwam Tamunang, who was able to extend the Spartan lead to 3-0.

AU would be able to grab one more goal in the 69th minute when Barajas snuck past Rockford's defender and Pierson placed the ball just infront of Barajaswho then rocketed the ball past the outstretched arms of the Rockford goalie.

The Spartans defense was able to hold the Regents to just four shots on the day as the Spartans went on to win 4-0.
With the win, AU is now 10-4-2 overall and 5-3 in the NACC. Next action for the Spartan men's soccer team comes on
Saturday, October 25 when they travel to Wisconsin Lutheran College. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
