Edwin's Road to Recovery

Donation protected
On July 19, 2016 my brother Edwin Ayuso was involved in a devastating motorcycle accident in Woodstock, Ct. He was rushed to UMASS Medical Center and underwent two emergency surgeries to repair a broken femur and a neck injury. When the doctors came out after completing the surgeries the neurologist said he only had a 2% chance of ever walking again. There was damage to his spinal cord between the C5, C6, & C7 vertebrae rendering him a paraplegic, unable to move or feel below the nipple line in his chest.

After approximately 3 weeks in the ICU at UMASS he was finally transferred to Spaulding Rehabilitation Center to further his treatment. With the help from the amazing staff at Spaulding, he's progressing more and more each day. He's slowly regaining strength and sensation in certain parts of his body. We strongly believe that with a positive mindset and determination, he will make a full recovery.

Due to the severity of his injuries, the cost for his surgeries and treatments are extremely high. Any donations that are made will be greatly appreciated and will go towards the cost of his medical bills.

Edwin and our family greatly appreciate all of the support, kind words and prayers we've received throughout his road to recovery. Thanks for your time and generosity.
