TWO DOORS DOWN!!!

After a year and a half of hard work, travel, internships, classes, family debates, and red tape, Motte and Sons Bootlegging had its Spartanburg Chamber ribbon cutting.  The ceremony took place at 4-7pm,  Friday the 10th of October.  Thanks go out to Allen Smith, CEO, of Spartanburg's Chamber of Commerce and Lindsay Harris, Membership Development Specialist, for coordinating and attending our event.  In addition Motte and Sons appreciates the continued support from the City of Spartanburg and Patty Bock, Economic Development Director, who also attended our event.

Our distillery has been very busy selling our handmade whiskey, vodka, rums and brandy.  Originally Motte and Sons opened with a soft open.  What is a soft open?  According to Wikipedia it is:
"Soft-launching is a method of gathering data on a product's usage and acceptance in the marketplace, before making it generally available as a hard launch or grand opening".

What actually happened is the press picked up our "soft opening" and we were front page news in the Herald Journal.  Being the front page news brought the TV stations.  Channel 7, the Channel 4 both did great programs on us and broadcast us throughout the airwaves.  I want to thank the Herald, WSPA (channel 7), and  WYFF (channel 4) for their coverage.
Thank you, Amy Wood for being there.

Trevor Anderson, I appreciate being on the front cover of the Herald's. Crystal Light, Sarah Winters, Sally Carroll, and Elaine Freeman were all there to help me in our first days.  I appreciate the City of Spartanburg for the Main Street Challenge.

All this coverage would not have happened without the Chamber and local support.

Motte and Sons opened for business on August 21, 2014. Its hours are from 11am to 7pm.
