There will be demonstrations, local authors and artists, live music and plenty of attractions for all the family, including the popular model railway in the upper garden and the Signal Box, where trainee signalmen and women can discover the joys of signalling.

The Open Days will be between 10am and 4pm. The weekend is designed to demonstrate the diversity of restoration projects and to recruit more volunteers as the Trust moves forward to becoming an operational heritage railway.

Thousands of pounds have been invested in the project to date, with huge contributions of time and donations from many steam enthusiasts.

The trust needs more funds to lease and purchase land all the way to Sturminster Newton, to repair the locomotives, and more volunteers to help extend the Station beyond its current boundaries.
