Dancing With the Stars Final Four Become Final Three [Recap]

Dancing With the Stars

Dancing With the Stars

Dancing With the Stars Final Week began on Monday, November 24, and the Final Four celebrities left in the competition were narrowed down to the Final Three by the end of the evening. Tension was in the air, but there was also fantastic dancing, as usual, and great performances, like the one choreographed by Mandy Moore of It’s a Hard Knock Life, from the movie, Annie. Actress Quvenzhane Wallis, who plays Annie in the movie, was on hand and danced along with other talented young dancers.

The first dance of the evening that the celebs performed on Dancing With the Stars was one which the judges selected, a “do over” of a dance they had performed earlier in the season and had not done as well on as their other dances. The second dance that the celebs performed was a freestyle dance.

Bethany Mota and Derek Hough were the first performers to strut their stuff on Dancing With the Stars. The re-did a Jive dance from Week One to Taylor Swift’s hit song, Shake It Off. They did a great job, with the judges awarding them scores of 9s, for a total of 36 out of 40 points. They really nailed their second dance, the Freestyle one, which they performed to Diplo’s song Revolution (District 78 Remix), getting scores of 10s from each of the judges, for a perfect 40/40 points.

The next celeb and pro dancer on Dancing With the Stars were Sadie Robertson and Mark Ballas, a couple who are a favorite of many fans to win the Mirror Ball Trophy tomorrow night. With their first dance, a Samba to Hunter by Pharrell Williams, they were awesome, getting two 9s and two 10s from the judges, earning 38 out of 40 points. Their second dance, later in the show, they were the second couple in a row to get perfect 10s from the judges. They performed their Freestyle dance to Koji Kondo’s Super Mario Bros. Theme, rockin’ it out. They were declared safe and will be moving on to the Finals night, tomorrow.

Another couple favored by many to win went third on Dancing With the Stars tonight, Janel Parrish and Val Chmerkovskiy. They re-did a Samba from Week Six as their first dance, to the Celia Cruz song La Vida Es Un Carnaval. They also did fantastic, earning scores from the judges of three 9s and one 10, for 37/40 points in all. Later in the program, they danced their Freestyle dance to Sleeping at Last’s song I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles). They were the third couple to get 40 out of 40 possible points awarded to them for their second dance, making the competition very tight tonight.

The final couple on Dancing With the Stars to perform was one considered to be a huge fan favorite, namely Alfonso Ribiero and Witney Carson. Alfonso has proven he has some pretty amazing dancing skills this season. With their re-do dance, a Jive to Cupid’s song 3-6-9, Alfonso showed that either his back is not hurting as badly as he has said it does, or he can just suck it up and get the job done when need be, dealing with the pain. It was INCREDIBLE! The judges gave them perfect 10s for this dance, for a score of 40 out of 40 points.

For their Freestyle dance late on in the Dancing With the Stars episode, they danced to Benny Goodman’s Sing, Sing, Sing (With a Swing) and also, as a cool addition, Alfonso did some tap dancing to the song Apache by The Sugarhill Gang! They wowed both the audience and the judges, who gave them a perfect score for the dance. They had the highest score of the evening, 80 out of 80 possible points in all.

Who was eliminated on Dancing With the Stars? The last couple who were declared safe was Janel and Val. The couple eliminated in this very close competition tonight was Bethany Mota and Derek Hough. All of the three celebs left in the competition have shown that they are great dancers, and any one of them could walk away with the Mirror Ball Trophy tomorrow. Stay tuned and watch the season finale, and then please come back here to read the recap of the season’s last episode of Dancing With the Stars!
