Abington, Pa.- The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in the sports of women's and men's cross country and men's golf for the period running from Monday, October 13 through Sunday, October 19. These are also the first set of selections of the season for women's and men's swimming & diving and reflect all results thus far through Sunday, October 19. Alexander Kane (Doylestown, Pa.) has been named the NEAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week after another phenomenal performance for the
Penn State Abington Nittany Lions. Competing in a field of 355 runners at the eight-kilometer Gettysburg Invitational, the junior captured ninth place with a finish time of 26:12 and was outside the top-five by a mere six seconds. It was Kane's fifth top-10 finish of the year for the Nittany Lions, who placed 21st overall out of 34 teams.
Mike Lam (Langhorne, Pa.) has been chosen as the NEAC Men's Golfer of the Week after a pair of strong outings for the
Penn State Abington Nittany Lions. The junior was the top Abington finisher at a pair of events last week, as he carded a four-over 76 to take a tie for third place out of 61 golfers at the Chestnut Hill Invitational last Tuesday before tying for 12th place out of 87 participants with a score of 78 at the par-70 Rutgers-Camden Invitational Saturday.
