Box Score LONGVIEW, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team routed LeTourneau University 4-0 Friday afternoon in Longview. The win improved the Cru to 7-4-1 overall and 4-1-1 in American Southwest Conference play while the YellowJackets went to 5-8-2 on the season and 2-5-1 in conference play.
UMHB took early control of the match when Kat Parker scored in the seventh minute of play for a 1-0 Cru lead. Parker struck again in the 26
th minute off an assist from
Sarah Rempe for a 2-0 lead. UMHB held that until the 51
st minute when
Cameron Shivers found the back of the net off an assist from Parker. Parker also assisted a goal in the 63
rd minute when
Briana Hester found the back of the net for the 4-0 win.
Parker led the Cru with two goals and two assists.
Amanda Carlough led the Cru with eight shots while Shivers had six and Hester recorded five.
Courtney Craig played the first half for the Cru making three saves before
Morgan Prentice came in the second half, making one save. UMHB took 30 shots in the contest and limited the YellowJackets to just eight.
UMHB returns to action tomorrow in a 4 p.m. match at the University of Texas at Tyler. The Cru returns home next weekend, opening with a 1 p.m. match against University of the Ozarks at 1 p.m. in Belton.
