New Greenwings Website!

We've been beavering away in the background the past few months developing a new and improved website, which we're delighted to say has now been launched!

We hope you find it a pleasure to view and use. One of the key updates is the ability to now book a holiday online and complete a booking form at the same time.

Please do have a look and let us know what you think of the site. We're genuinely interested in your views so don't be shy - constructive criticism is welcome!

Balkan Butterflies
20 - 27 June 2015

We're making some changes to our popular butterfly watching holiday in southern Greece. As well as visiting Mount Chelmos in the Peloponnese we're now going to cross to the other side of the Gulf of Corinth and take in Mount Parnassos and the world famous site of Delphi too!

We also now involve a Greek botanist whose local knowledge is invaluable. Flowers also add another dimension to the holiday and often help us tell the story of interactions between butterflies and their host plants.

Winter bird watching in Greece - new dates added!
Our January trip to Lake Kerkini in north Greece is now full, so we've added a second week, 3 - 10 February.

If you'd like to see and photograph the stunning Dalmatian Pelicans and other special birds, such as Greater Spotted Eagles and Great Grey Shrikes, then this could be the holiday for you!

10% of the profits are donated to Birdwing to support their conservation work in the area.
A group of 'Greenwingers' recently enjoyed 150 species of birds during a week of bird migration in the Strait of Gibraltar (10 - 17 September). This included 20+ raptor species, notably Spanish Imperial Eagle and Black-winged Kite. Two of the more unlikely highlights were a pod of 5 Orca seen during a whale-watching boat trip and a close encounter with several Red‐necked Nightjars - which posed beautifully for some photos! A couple of which can be seen below, taken by our guide Yeray Seminario.
