Civil aviation offence, Waterford

Police have charged a teenaged boy with an offence committed under the civil aviation act following an incident in Beenleigh last night.

It will be alleged around 7pm, the police helicopter was conducting airborne patrols of the Beenleigh area when the crew noticed a laser light being shone at them from outside a residence in Foxdale Court, Waterford.

The helicopter crew reported the incident and police attended the address where a boy was spoken to in relation to the matter.

He will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
