Trabosh Adds Daktronics All-Region to Career Accolades

West Haven, Conn. - (11/21/2014) – Just 11 days after receiving her second All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Second Team selection, sophomore libero Regina Trabosh (Norristown, Pa.) has earned recognition on the Daktronics National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II All-East Region Team. Trabosh drew a Second Team honor as the CACC's regular-season leader in digs (636) and digs/set (5.94).
 
4517Trabosh was a four-time CACC Defensive Player of the Week (9/15, 9/22, 10/28, 11/10) and a one-time mention on the CACC Weekly Honor Roll (10/7). She eclipsed the 30-digs threshold in four matches and currently ranks 11th in the nation in digs/set (5.94) and tied for 15th in total digs (636). Her best performances came in a 3-1 (25-17, 25-17, 23-25, 25-8) CACC victory over Felician College (October 4); a season-high 32 digs, six assists, and an ace, and in the season finale; a season-high 31-dig effort that came with two assists and led the Griffins to a 3-1 (25-12, 25-22, 19-25, 25-22) CACC victory over Concordia College (NY) on Senior Day, Saturday, November 8.

As a freshman, Trabosh earned her first All-CACC Second Team selection with a league-leading 624 digs, six CACC Defensive Player of the Week awards (9/10, 9/16, 10/1, 10/7, 11/5/2013), and three CACC Weekly Honor Roll mentions (9/23, 10/21, 10/28/2014). She recorded double-digit digs in all 30 matches, eclipsing the 30-dig plateau in five of them to average a league best 5.38 digs-per-set; which also qualified her for 24th nationally. Trabosh was recognized as the women's volleyball Most Valuable Player (MVP) at the annual Athletics Awards Reception and earned academic accolades on both the fall 2013 and spring 2014 Chestnut Hill College Athletics Academic Honor Rolls.  
 
Four other CACC members offered all-region recipients including the CACC Player of the Year, Post University's sophomore middle hitter Skylar German (Kansas City, Mo.), and her fellow All-CACC First Teamers, Dominican College's sophomore outside hitter McKenzie John (Lafayette, La.) and Caldwell University's senior libero Jaclyn Del Cid (Bogota, N.J.). Goldey-Beacom College's senior outside hitter Kadi McCoy (Dallastown, Pa.) joined Trabosh on the East Region's Second Team.
