The Pitchfork Guide to Upcoming Releases: Fall 2014

Records to look forward to in the coming months
Image may contain Nature Outdoors Electronics Computer Mouse and Hardware

Welcome once again to the Pitchfork Guide to Upcoming Releases, our seasonal guide to new music. Four times a year, we round up a list of albums, singles, EPs, and DVDs arriving over the coming months. Maybe you'll, y'know, go out and buy records. (Don't you miss that new CD smell?) This installment covers fall 2014.

With different release dates for digital and physical versions of albums, as well as different release dates for different countries, compiling this list is tricky. With that in mind, we tried to stick with North American physical release dates as much as possible, with exceptions as noted. Please note that release dates may change.

__Run the Jewels: RTJ2 (October 28, Mass Appeal)
__El-P and Killer Mike return with an album that's set to feature Rage Against the Machine frontman Zack de la Rocha, Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, and Beyoncé collaborator Boots. A remix album is already in the works for 2015, and if all goes according to plan, the world will also be blessed with a re-recorded version of RTJ2 featuring cat sounds.

__Grouper: Ruins (October 31, Kranky)
__Liz Harris is back with what might be her most stripped-down Grouper album to date. Ruins was recorded during a 2011 residency in Aljezur, Portugal and features "Call Across Rooms".

__Arca: Xen (November 4, Mute)

__Ariel Pink: pom pom (November 18, 4AD)

__Savages/Bo Ningen: Words to the Blind (November 18, Stolen Recordings/Pop Noire)

Seeds is TV on the Radio's first new album since the passing of bassist/producer Gerard Smith and their split with Interscope. It features their single "Happy Idiot".

__Nicki Minaj: The Pinkprint (November 24, Young Money Entertainment/Cash Money/Republic)
__Nicki Minaj is ready to unleash her Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded follow-up. While a tracklist hasn't surfaced yet, she's delivered several potential candidates for the album: "Pills N Potions", "Yasss Bish!", "Chi-Raq", and of course, "Anaconda".

__Charli XCX: Sucker (December 16, Neon Gold/Atlantic)
__Charli XCX's new album was pushed back from its originally-announced October 21 release date. Why? Because her song "Boom Clap" kept lingering on the charts and she wanted to "launch the album properly". Sucker also comes after Charli found massive success this year with Iggy Azalea's "Fancy".
