Toms River Man Wanted In Wells Fargo Robbery: Police

Toms River police say they have identified a suspect in Thursday's robbery and have issued an arrest warrant.

TOMS RIVER, NJ β€” A Toms River man is being sought by authorities in connection with Thursday's bank robbery at the Wells Fargo on Route 37.

An arrest warrant for Richard Winiavski, 30, has been issued, with bail set at $75,000, said. Capt. Michael Belcher of the Toms River Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division. Belcher also released photos from surveillance footage that captured the heist.

Belcher said Winiavski walked into the Wells Fargo on Route 37 near Vaughn Avenue about 9:15 a.m. and demanded money from the teller.

He did not show or mention a weapon, Belcher said. "To our knowledge he was unarmed," he said.

After tellers turned over an undisclosed amount of cash, Winiavski left the bank and fled in an unknown direction, Belcher said.

He was identified during the course of the followup investigation, Belcher said.
