Claims that Christian’s were mainly the proprietors of slavery. Can you back that claim up marelin?

Gosh, Kristinmak, history looks really pretty now that you've given it a nice "white-wash"! Don't you just love it when you can blame just about everything on the Jews - I know I do! It's like, way cool to be Christian, it makes me feel so fresh and forgiving - to other Christians of course; everybody else is just going to hell, so why bother? I am curious though; when you say "few Americans actually kept slaves" do you mean like three people kept slaves or are we talking more than half a dozen? Slavery was such Anathema to Colonial Americans that they practiced it for 150 years before enshrining it in the Constitution of their sparkly, shiny new country. We Americans should be proud that we abolished slavery in just 230 years - that's like super fast! All it took was the kidnapping, torturing and working to their deaths of millions of black people - oh,yeah - and a bloody war that tore the country apart - Easy-Peasy! Dr. Livingstone was an anti-slavery British Imperialist who believed in the conversion and domination of Africans by Europeans whether they liked it or not. Stanley was an opportunist known for his brutality toward natives and was instrumental in helping King Leopold grab the Congo, where his administration would be condemned for committing some of the worst atrocities of any colonial power in Africa (and that's saying a lot.) Promise me you'll never burst that bubble of ignorance that surrounds you, Kristinmak, cuz it looks so good on you.

To kristinmak. To read your post, one would think the vast majority of persons to benefit from the slave trade were Jewish, and that Christians tried to stop it. You most certainly know that is not true.
The majority of people to benefit from slavery were Christians - by a landslide.

A great book available on Archive.org is "Capture of a Slaver". Few Americans actually kept slaves, and it was an anathema to the Puritans and Colonial Americans. Remember that Stanley & Livingston, Christian missionaries were the first white men to enter Darkest Africa on a quest to end tribal slavery. We as America should be proud of our history in abolishment of slavery, while nations in Africa today still practice it (Mauritania, for one).
