Charges: Attempted murder, Idalia

A North Ward teenager has been charged with the attempted murder of a man last night in Idalia.

At about 11.45pm, it will be alleged that a 15-year-old boy stabbed a man in the upper torso with a knife at a Springbank Circuit address.

It will be further alleged that he then chased another teenage boy while armed with two knives.

A 49-year-old Idalia man was taken to the Townsville Base Hospital with serious injuries.

The 15-year-old North Ward boy has been charged with one count each of attempt to murder, threatening violence and going armed so as to cause fear.

He will be dealt with under provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
