CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is augmenting Thanksgiving for Greater Clevelanders with free admission. And there's more.
Holiday revelers can stuff themselves at home, then come to the zoo and watch various animals eat.
Throughout the day, different animals will get treats to consume. Often, these will be hidden in pumpkins that the animals have to smash or otherwise open to get at the goodies.
In zoo parlance, these are called enhancement demonstrations. It is enhancement because it gives the animals something out of the ordinary to do.
