Rev. Paul's Inspirational Message

GOD'S GOT THE POWER!

Good Day Family,

Power is the ability to make things happen. It is the ability to do something that others cannot do. I have a friend who says it like this, "If you want to see something happen stop talking and do something." In other words, power means nothing unless it is manifested in action. Power can be used for enormous good. Political leaders have the power to improve the lives of those who elect them through legislation and direct action. They also have the same power to work for ill in the lives of their citizenry.

Power is also intoxicating. Human beings become caught up in their pursuit of it and others are drawn to those who they perceive to possess it. However, power can be utilized for positive change and to aid and assist the powerless. Throughout history, there have been stories of persons who used and abused power. In the 1920's, Jimmy Walker, then Mayor of New York City, became known as one of the most corrupt, unscrupulous and powerful politicians of his time-one who used in power solely for personal gain. On the other hand, it was Fiorello LaGuardia (for whom New York's airport is named) who came into office following Walker's political demise, with a vision and mandate to clean up city government and to provide for the citizens of his city, especially the poorest among them. One man used power for ill and for gain. The other man used power to accomplish enormous good.

The most important thing that we must remember is that ultimately, the power belongs to God. We can do nothing that God does not allow or enable. We should, therefore, do our best to use whatever power we may have to help others and to honor God. You have the opportunity to use your power to make a difference in this world and in the lives of others. This is your day to begin.

With Holy Ghost Power,
