Words of War: 1941 and the Shadow War
Saturday, December 3; 2:30 pm Boardman Road Branch Library
Award-winning author and journalist Marc Wortman discusses his new book
1941: Fighting the Shadow War. Conventional wisdom dictates that the US entered World War II on December 8, 1941 in retaliation for the bombing of Pearl Harbor. However, historian Marc Wortman compellingly reveals the ways in which America played an increasingly significant and clandestine role in the war in the months and years prior to officially joining the battle.

This year's program concluded on November 19!
What a journey "Into the Beautiful North!" Many joined Nayeli and her compatriots as they crossed the border for a new beginning. Thanks to all who organized or attended one of the many events. The Library District is grateful for such continued support of this fantastic program.
Make plans to join us for next year's Big Read where we will explore the writings of Native American poet Joy Harjo. The primary book will be Harjo's
How We Became Human, a retrospective of her works from 1975 to 2001. Tween Read and Little Read titles have yet to be selected.

Adriance Memorial Library - Charwat Meeting Room
The history of the women's suffrage movement in our state and nation spanned seventy years. Our book selections - which include history, biography, and fiction - provide a window into this chapter of American social progress.
This discussion series is facilitated by Dr. Sandra Opdycke.
