Put a Roar back in the Lyon's Heart

There is nothing more Charles Lyonhart would like to do than to have his health back; to be able to work and to sing and perform again.

With a little bit of help from all his friends and loved one's - we could make this dream a reality...

Charles contracted Hepatitis C in the early 70's which led to his liver transplant in 2005. His new liver transplant worked fine - until the liver got infected from the Hepatitis virus that was still in his body, a common occurrence.  In the past few years Charles' condition has grown worse.

Fortunately there are brand new medicines available today that have an incredible success rate of clearing the virus from the body completely.  Charles has started this treatment.

Most of the new medicines, like Sovaldi, that he is taking, have fewer side effects however, due to the fact that Charles is a liver transplantee he must do a combination therapy that includes Riboviran that has real nasty side effects, including; fatigue, anemia, fevers, shortness of breath, fainting, headaches, nausea etc. all which have left Charles finding it very difficult to function, let alone work. Not being able to work, while on the treatment, has left Charles without a means of support to pay for normal everyday costs (that we all have in common) keep a roof over his head, food, bills etc.

In addition the treatment and medications are all very expensive. The retail price of Sovaldi (just one of the drugs) is $1,000.00 per pill per day and although insurance covers a good part of this, his co-pays are adding up very fast and there are still many other expenses associated with treatment other then the medication.  There is weekly blood work, CAT scans, X-Rays, MRIs and the four hour roundtrip travel to his specialist at Mount Sinai Hospital. 

Charles has been out of work since the Summer of 2014 so he has no income to cover all his montly bills and his Out Of Pocket medical expenses, and his savings have been depleted.

This treatment is tough and the stress of the financial situation is growing on him and making it all the more difficult to endure. I keep telling him "your only job right now is the treatment - you must get through this treatment (6 months) and then you will be back on your feet."

When Charles was in good health he was always performing at benefits and fundraisers and helping as many people as he could.

Charles is blessed to have such a wonderful fan base and so many people that love him that I figured A-Go-Fund-Me campaign would be just the perfect solution.
