Closure of Operation Lima Iolite, North Brisbane

Detectives from North Brisbane Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) have today closed a significant drug operation targeting those responsible for the supply of dangerous drugs in Brisbane’s northern suburbs.

Operation Lima Iolite commenced in September 2013, and has resulted in police executing 17 search warrants in suburbs including Brighton, Bray Park, Nundah, Zillmere, Taigum, Bald Hills, Banyo, Virginia, and Sandgate.

A total of 17 people were charged with 37 offences, including possession of dangerous drugs, possession of implements, and drug trafficking.

Detective Acting Inspector David Jackman, Gateway Crime Group said police had caused a major disruption to the supply and distribution of dangerous drugs in Brisbane’s northern suburbs, and reminded members of the public that they could provide information in relation to drug activity anonymously to Crime Stoppers.
