Assault investigation, Jamboree Heights

Police are investigating an incident in which a woman was assaulted while walking home at Jamboree Heights last night.

Around 7.15pm the 18-year-old was walking through a lane way between Dandenong Road and Sabot Street when she noticed a man coughing and appearing unwell.

The woman approached the man and asked if he was okay, when the man grabbed her around the neck and shoulders from behind and a struggle ensued.

The woman managed to free herself and ran away.

The man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, aged in his late 20s, approximately 175cm tall with short brown hair and a tanned complexion.

Investigations are continuing.
