Mixed feelings on whather dad is going through
Kota Kinabalu: Prominent social activist Datin Paduka Marina Mahathir (pic) has mixed feelings about what her father, former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, is going through at this moment."On the one hand, I feel like at 91, he really should be able to relax, be around with his grandkids and things like that.

On the other hand, I really admire the commitment and dedication and the energy that he displays because love him or hate him, I think everyone envies that energy because everyone wishes that Wow at 91, I can still do that.

"Because he is still very sharp, physically Alhamdulillah, he is pretty good. Why not? I think he is an example to elderly people everywhere. And I think he thinks like that. He says you can't think old. You start thinking old, you will be old," she told Daily Express in an exclusive interview.

On her dad's crossing the political divide to fight alongside the Opposition, Marina said this was not something that she saw coming partly because he never tells the family anything.

Asked whether Dr Mahathir would be willing to work with Anwar, Marina said she really could not answer for him.

"I think it's the other way round. You know my dad is a politician through and through and he is willing to work with anyone on a common cause. But the other way round."

When told of the general perception of Sabahans being that he mishandled Sabah in view of the presence of hordes of Filipinos and Indonesians and the so-called Project IC linked to him, she felt her dad had explained why the IC thing started, that it was for stateless children but went out of control.
