It’s a free exam that could save a life.

Once a year, the group Friends of Fogelberg provides free prostate cancer screenings for men across the High Plains.

At the 24 Hours in the Canyon Cancer Survivorship Center, Amarillo Urology gives PSA blood tests to screen for prostate cancer.

PSA stands for Prostate Specific Antigens, which is what doctors look for in these tests.

Joe Ed Coffman, the group’s founder, says it encourages all men to take care of their health.

Coffman says they screened about 700 men last year and about 2000 in the past few years.
