The Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference announced the 2014-15 All-Academic Team Thursday morning. Juniors Charles Garcia (Sparkill/Tappen Zee), Shaun Gillen (Bohemia/Connetquot), Anthony Marino (Nesconset/Sachem North) and Sam Rachman (Huntington/John Glenn) represent Oneonta on the 36-man list.
 
In order to qualify, student athletes must have reached sophomore status and be in at least their second semester on campus while maintaining a cumulative or two-semester GPA of 3.3. The list recognizes student-athletes who have wrestled in at least three competitions and were eligible to compete in the ECWC Championship Tournament.
 
Garcia, a secondary education/Spanish major, posted a 5-6 record this season including one pin. Gillen, a criminal justice major, put together a 27-6 mark thus far including four pins. Marino, an adolescent math education major, registered eight wins including a trio of pins.  Rachman, majoring in communication studies, also chalked up eight wins with three pins.
