How do you read to your child if you are in prison?
Lisa D’Onofrio interviewed the men who take part in the Read Along Dads program at Loddon Prison in Castlemaine. She coordinates and delivers this program by the Friends of Castlemaine Library.
The Read Along Dads program provides children of prisoners with a recording of their parent, guardian or grandparent reading a book: both the CD recording and the book are sent to the child, who can listen to their parent’s voice whilst reading or looking at the book.
