We can all head "Back to School" at BNFYoga this month.  Each time you take a Yoga class there is an opportunity to learn something new about our body, our breath, our mind, and how we are connected to ALL living beings.   Let's take the seat of the student and receive the teachings of Yoga from the teacher that stands before us and within us.

Don't forget, our children need their regular Yoga practice too!  Now that school is back in session make Mondays & Thursdays a part of your weekly

Family Yoga time.   Kids Yoga (ages 5-12) Mondays @4:30pm, Yoga for Big Kids (ages 11-14) Mondays @ 7:15pm, YogArt (ages 5-12) Thursdays @4:30pm.   At all 3 times an Adult Yoga class is being offered in the very next room.   On the way to and from class, take a few minutes to share with one another how Yoga makes you feel.

Spread the Yoga Love by practicing with family & friends or by telling someone about it. For Example - Write a review for us on our Google Places page or Yahoo! September Pose of the Month

Pincha Mayurasana - Forearm Stand

Pincha Mayurasana means Feathered Peacock and is commonly referred to as Forearm Stand. The pose resembles a peacock starting it's dance.
This arm balance simultaneously strengthens and stretches the shoulders. It also strengthens the arms, back and core while stretching the neck, chest and belly.
This pose requires strength, balance and patience. It is an inversion that does not put any pressure on the head but still offers all of the benefits of being upside down including stress reduction, improved circulation and calming of the brain. Inversions are powerful teachers capable of offering us a new perspective on life: heart over head.

  • Vinyasa Flow led by the BNFYoga Teacher Graduates is Back this Fall!  Join Angie & Serena on Saturdays at 5pm beginning Sept. 20th @5pm.
  • Join Traci every Tuesday at 8:30pm and Sunday at 6pm for POUND
  • Yoga Teacher Training is back in session this Sept., Baby & Me Yoga on Sundays at 9:30am will meet every other Sunday beginning Sept. 7th.  This class still requires pre-registration.

BNFYoga Annual Fall/Winter 200hr Yoga Teacher Training begins Sunday, Sept. 14th: Once a year BNFYoga offers a 200 hr Yoga teacher training that is open to a group of only 12 students journeying together as one through the study & practice of Yoga. We are happy to say a wonderful, loving, and inspiring group of Yogis are forming once again this year.

Good News, we have a few spots left for our 2014 Fall/Winter 200hr YTT beginning Sept. 14th!  Are you ready to deepen your own personal practice and/or looking to share your love of Yoga with your family, friends, and community? End of Summer - Restorative Yoga and Aroma Oils Workshop w/Jamie Henderson 

Join Jamie for an aroma therapy restorative workshop that will leave you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. With the use of essential oils we will sink deep within ourselves to find a state of deep relaxation as stress and tension simply melt away.

16 Yoga Studio Communities from across Long Island will unite with common breath, compassion & the practice of yoga to raise awareness and funds in support of organizations that work to eradicate the insidious & horrific practice of human trafficking and provide refuge, rehabilitation, & economic opportunities to survivors. OLLI works in collaboration with Off the Mat into the World to support their continued work using yoga to inspire conscious sustainable activism and ignite grassroot social change.
