Former CBS “Late Show” host David Letterman had some harsh words for President Donald Trump, telling GQ that he was sickened by the election of his onetime frequent guest.

Letterman, who retired in 2015 after 33 years on late-night television, said he didn’t regret having Trump on his show so often.

“No, no reason to regret it,” he said. “I’m disappointed that this man is representing me and my country. It makes me sick.”

Letterman also described Trump as a “great guest” on the show:

“He was just a big, wealthy dope who’d come on and we would make fun of his hair. I would refer to him as a slumlord. But now, this goon... I don’t know. He’s demonstrated himself to be a man without a core, a man without a soul. Is there a guy in there?”

Letterman even indicated he’d like to interview Trump one more time.

“I would love to have 90 minutes with him in a TV studio, just to talk to the guy,” Letterman said. “I would just like to say, ‘All right, Don: What the fuck happened?’”
