Aimie Inthoulay Earns Women's Soccer's First WAC Offensive Player of the Week Award

EDINBURG – The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) announced on Monday that University of Texas-Pan American (UTPA) women's soccer freshman midfielder Aimie Inthoulay is the WAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week for her efforts in the Broncs' 2-0-0 week.

Inthoulay became the first player in program history to record two goals in a match and two assists in a match, scoring twice in a 4-0 win at Grambling State on Friday, and setting up both goals in a 2-1 home opening win over Huston-Tillotson on Wednesday.

Inthoulay is the second-straight Bronc to be honored by the WAC, joining freshman goalkeeper Aubrie Coley, who earned WAC Defensive Player of the Week honors last week.

At 3-0-1, the Broncs are the first team in school history to be unbeaten through their first four matches as an NCAA Division I program. The 1965-66 men's tennis team started off 3-0 before losing its fourth match.

The Broncs are just the fifth NCAA Division I women's soccer team out of 22 in the history of Texas to be undefeated through four matches, joining Baylor (4-0-0 in 1996), Incarnate Word (4-0-0 in 2013), Houston Baptist (4-0-0 in 2008) and Abilene Christian (4-0-1 in 2013).
