Get excited folks, the Cultivate London Autumn Open Day is here!!! On Saturday the 20th of September, in association with Urban Food Fortnight and Capital Growth's Edible Open Garden Day, we will be opening our site at Commerce Road up to the the public for an afternoon of activities, including site tours, gardening demonstrations, and of course, a plant sale (we promise some great deals on autumn and winter veg). This is the last time we will be holding such an event on our Commerce Road site, as we are soon to be moving to the South Acton Estate, so don't miss out on seeing this fantastic space.

The event will run from 11pm - 3pm.  We hope to see many of you there  - it will be the perfect time to stock your garden full of gorgeous autumn and winter veg and flowers. And of course, who doesn't love a bit of community festivity?  See you on the 20th!

Where: Commerce Road, Brentford, TW8 8LR - across from the Brentford Lock West Marketing Suite.  Limited parking available.  Easily accessible from E2, E8, 235, 237 and 267 bus routes (we can deliver plants if you can't carry them home!).
Voting is now open for London's Urban Food Awards, a joint initiative of London Food Link and Urban Food Routes, who are inviting citizens of London to vote for London's best "good food small enterprises".

There are four categories open for votes: Best Urban Food Producer, Retailer, Eatery and Educator.

Cultivate London has been nominated in both the producer and the educator categories, but we need YOUR VOTES to send us through to the final three, after which winners will be chosen by Urban Food Routes panel of expert judges.

It takes only a moment to vote!  If you would like to support us, please head to the Urban Food Awards home page to cast a vote for us: http://www.sustainweb.org/jelliedeel/vote/.  Voting is open until the end of October and winners are announced in December.

Please help spread the word!
Cultivate London's last traineeship of the 2014 season is now underway. A fantastic group of new trainees has joined us for the autumn season, and by all accounts, everyone is having  a great time so far.  We are really looking forward to working with everyone over the coming months!

There are still a limited number of positions left on the traineeship, and we are able to accept new trainees until the end of September, so if you know if someone who might like to get involved, please get in touch with Adrienne (adrienne@cultivatelondon.org).  Please visit our website to find out more about this opportunity.
Are you a member of a community group/allotment society/PTA/school steering group (etc) that is running a fundraising event this spring?  Consider selling some Cultivate London plants as part of your event!  We can sell you a wide range of stock at wholesale prices, on a sale or return basis, allowing you to sell at retail and keep the profit margin. Very successful during the spring!  Interested?  Get in touch with Denis  - denis@cultivatelondon.org, 07906 676 3908.
We are always looking for volunteers to come work with us.  There is never a shortage of tasks to be done at either site, from sowing, planting and harvesting, to office-based tasks such as marketing, website maintenance and media relations.

If you have a few spare hours in the week and would like to come get your hands dirty at Cultivate London (either literally, at one of our sites, or figuratively, in the office), please get in touch with
Adrienne.
