Armed robbery, Southport

Police are investigating after a pizza delivery driver was robbed in Southport early this morning.

Just after midnight, a 21-year-old Biggera Waters man arrived at a Bauer Street address to delivery pizzas.

The delivery driver was approached by a man who threatened him with a knife and demanded he hand over the cash and pizzas he was carrying.

The delivery driver complied and the man fled the scene on foot with the cash and pizzas.

It is believed he had earlier called a Southport fast food outlet and provided staff with a fake delivery address.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, average build, around 193cm tall with brown eyes.

He was wearing a brown hooded jumper, black tracksuit pants, cream or ivory-coloured shoes and had a green bandana over his face.
