An 88-second Star Wars VII teaser trailer that was been released on Friday by Disney and Lucasfilm has fans both old and young in bliss. Though it does not reveal anything about the actual plot of the upcoming Star Wars VII movie directed by JJ Abrams, it has enough special effects in it, droids, TIE fighters, a helmetless Stormtrooper (John Boyega) and even the Millennium Falcon, to give fans a lot to talk about.

Including, for instance, who the narrator of the Star Wars VII video clip is, with many people thinking that the narrator’s voice is that of Benedict Cumberbatch. However, according to a reporter with HitFix, as well as other sources, the voice of the narrator actually belongs to actor Andy Serkis, who played Gollum in The Hobbit trilogy and did the voice of Caesar in the Planet of the Apes reboots, Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.

The 88-second Star Wars VII teaser trailer has already been watched almost 3 million time on YouTube, according to an article in U-T San Diego. It was also in 30 movie theaters across America. Besides the helmetless Stormtrooper, viewers were treated to listening to a new score by John Williams and seeing actors Oscar Isaac, Daisy Ridley and the sight of a man in a cape wielding a three-pronged light saber. If he is the movie’s villain, as some people believe him to be, the man is Adam Driver.

Oscar Isaac is clad in Rebel Alliance gear in the Star Wars VII clip, wearing the same type of helmet and red/orange outfit made famous in past Star Wars movies. Daisy Ridley is seen flying a speedy spacecraft in the clip.

The events in the movie occur three decades after everything that transpires in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. The film will not hit theaters until December 18, 2015, but this video clip should be enough to keep fans talking and in bliss for at least a few days.

Many people commented about the brief trailer, including actress Anna Kendrick and James Gunn, the director of Guardians of the Galaxy. James Gunn stated the he “LOVED” the trailer and added that it filled him “with a giddy-little-kidness.”

Fans were somewhat disappointed, however, that the Star Wars VII teaser trailer did not include any scenes involving original cast members Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher. It was still viewed enough times to indicate fan interest is very high for the next installment in the franchise.

Despite the apparent defeat of the Empire at the end of Return of the Jedi (1983), there is still a dark side to the Force. There still is a need for the Rebel Alliance. The Empire still has Stromtroopers and the rumors of its demise were perhaps incorrect, or possibly, the Empire has risen, once again.

As long as there is no Jar-Jar Binks in Star Wars VII — heck, probably even if it does have him in it — the movie is likely to be the biggest blockbuster of 2015. The 88-second Star Wars VII teaser trailer released on Friday and already watched by millions of fans is proof that interest in the upcoming sequel is high. Watch it and leave any comments below!
