it was amazing

Death of a Beauty Queen is well written and brings a reader back to the golden days of sun, fun and fashion in Santa Lucia, California in the late 50's/early 60's. We find the Poppy Cove dress shop owners busy with the Santa Lucia Hospital Ball Fashion Show and the crowning of the new Miss Santa Lucia. This event leads us to a mystery with twists and turns that one might not expect. This is done is such a way that readers want to become part of the Santa Lucia community and mingle with the owners of Poppy Cove. The tidbits of the fashion of the era remind readers of a more elegant and cultured time in our history. The mystery never drops the ball and winds its way through the book smoothly leading readers to a surprise ending. It is the perfect read to relieve the stress of a relaxing day.
