The Pioneers finished the two-day event with a record of 0-4 after falling to the University of St. Thomas (3-0) and UW-Eau Claire (3-0) on Friday and Concordia (MN) College (3-0) and UW-Stevens Point (3-1) on Saturday.

The losses drop CU to 4-12 on the season.

What's next? The Pioneers return to action on Sept. 24 when they travel to Lawrence University for a Midwest Conference match.

Football
Lamont Williams took the second half kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown to spearhead a 28-7 Midwest Conference victory at Lake Forest College during Homecoming for the Foresters.

The first half was a defensive slugfest. Carroll scored the only touchdown in the first quarter on a 12 yard touchdown reception for Kevin Jennings from Kyle Burlingame. The Foresters answered with a one yard touchdown run at 12:05 of the second quarter to send the teams to a 7-7 score at halftime.

Williams, who entered the game ranked ninth in the country in scoring at 16.0 points per game, took it the distance at the start of the second half to break the hearts of many of the 1,650 Homecoming fans.

Williams wasn't done, however, as he scored rushing touchdowns in the third quarter (2 yards) and fourth quarter (2 yards) to give the Pioneers the comfortable victory down the stretch.

The victory improves CU to 3-0 on the season while Lake Forest falls to 1-2.

While Williams was carving up the Foresters on offense, Carroll's defense was dominant as usual. Michael Sahli and Josh Dummer led the Pioneers with 12 and 11 tackles respectively. Sahli recorded two of CU's four quarterback sacks while Tyler Aerts and Adam Bray each registered an interception.

What's next? Carroll returns to action next Saturday when they host Monmouth College at  1 p.m.

Women's Soccer
Carroll and Lawrence University played to a double-overtime scoreless draw in the Midwest Conference women's soccer opener for both teams.

Carroll outshot its visitors 9-4 but was unable to find the back of the net. Sarah Mahoney tallied a team-best four shots for CU.

Erica Patterson preserved the tie for Carroll after posting three saves on the day.

What's next? Carroll returns to action Sept. 24 when they travel to undefeated Lake Forest College.

Men's Soccer
The Pioneers went 1-0-1 over the weekend. Tyler Coenen scored two second half goals to lift Carroll to a 3-0 Midwest Conference-opening victory over Lawrence on Saturday. The Pioneers then squandered a one-goal lead and were held to a 1-1 double-overtime draw against UW-Platteville on Sunday.

What's next? Carroll travels to Ripon College on Saturday then completes its non-conference schedule on Sunday at UW-Oshkosh.

Cross Country

Julia Patzin and Kaylee Rossing also participated but fell in their opening matches.
