I am excited to announce our next Free Read, The Complete Thinker: The Marvelous Mind of G.K. Chesterton, by Dale Ahlquist, President of the American Chesterton Society. Chesterton produced a massive body of work in various genres, and is considered by some to be the greatest writer of the 20th century. Everyone should read Chesterton, but the next best thing is to read about Chesterton in the work of one of the finest contemporary students of Chesterton’s thought. Ahlquist, who spoke on Notre Dame’s campus several years ago and possesses a wit to rival Chesterton’s, eloquently weaves together elements of Chesterton’s thoughts on almost every subject into an illuminating whole in an effort to present Chesterton as the “complete thinker,” one who takes on a variety of ideas and disciplines and melds them together into something coherent. This book is a fine complement to reading Chesterton, and may also serve as an excellent introduction into Chesterton’s work for those unfamiliar with the author. We are pleased to promote this wonderful book.
