LC Golf: Harry Standberry II signs with Livingstone

Harry "JJ" Standberry II
Livingstone College's Head Golf Coach/Athletic Director Andre Springs has signed Harry Standberry II, a high school graduate from Inglewood California's Mira Costa High School and one of the top golfers in California.  Harry "JJ" Standberry II is an accomplished golfer who has played in over 30 career golf tournaments and is a member of the First Tee of Los Angeles.  Harry has played in individual tournaments such as the American Junior Golf Association Nationals, the Taylormade championship, the LA County championship, and on the 2013 Conference Championship team at Mira Costa high school.

While Coach Springs is putting together an impressive class of impact players from around the nation who he believes will make an impact not only in the C.I.A.A. and NCAA Division 2.  He feels that all of his golfers both those returning and the one's he has signed so far this year have the character and mindset to be champions in the classroom and on the golf course.  Below are some comments made by Harry Standberry II about the benefits of golf and education:

"I fell in love with the game of Golf. An independent sport that made me the responsible young man I am today. For years, I worked hard on improving myself. Working hard to become a successful student athlete. I have struggled to become the young man I am today. I am inspired by the complements that I receive by others. Hearing how polite and intelligent I am, reassures me that I am on the right path. I have been blessed with the ability to overcome situations that I have no control over. Becoming educated is what I do have control of. I want and will receive the best education possible. Despite what I have been through, I know that I have the ability to make something of myself."
