Eagles defense contains Baltimore Ravens' Joe Flacco on Day 2 of joint practices

PHILADELPHIA -- The Eagles' defense seemed to get the better of Baltimore Ravens' quarterback Joe Flacco on Thursday, the second of three joint practices between the teams at the NovaCare Complex.

Here's a look at how Flacco fared against various incarnations of the Eagles' defense, as defensive coordinator Bill Davis seemed to mix and match personnel packages throughout the session:

JOE FLACCO:

Overall: 13-of-22, 1 Touchdown, 0 interceptions

11 vs. 11: 6-of-14 0 touchdowns, 0 interceptions

7 vs. 7: 7-of-8, 1 touchdown

Analysis: The Ravens appeared to be emphasizing installing run plays during Thursday's practice, but even when Flacco did put the ball in the air, he was relatively inconsistent. Even with Flacco would connect on a pass that looked to be going for a big play, an Eagles defender seemed to be right there to either break up the pass or force a fumble.

Standout Players/Moments

Eric Rowe: For the second consecutive day, Rowe was matched up against Steve Smith, and seemingly made Smith irrelevant throughout the session. On a play late in the session Rowe was stride-for-stride with Smith along the sidelines and Flacco overthrew him. Earlier in the afternoon Rowe tipped away a would-be touchdown pass in the back of the end zone intended for Ravens' wide receiver DeAndre Carter. Receivers were still getting behind Rowe at times, especially on crossing patterns, but it was a good day overall for the Utah product.

Mychal Kendricks: Kendricks got most of his work in during 7-on-7 drills, but when he was on the field he appeared strong in coverage and showed a good nose for the football ... However, he did commit a pass interference penalty in the back of the endzone midway through Thursday's practice.

Randall Evans: The Kansas State product has had a relatively quiet training camp overall, but made an exceptional play breaking up a pass intended for Ravens' wide receiver Kamar Aiken during 11 on 11 drills.

E.J. Biggers: After being made to look silly during the initial one-on-one drills, biting on a head-fake by a Ravens' wide receiver, Biggers had a decent showing once the team drills commenced. Late in Thursday's session Biggers intercepted a Matt Schaub pass and returned it for a touchdown.
