Tara Lynn's Breast Cancer Battle

Hello! My Name Is Tara Lynn Aitken and I am 32 years old with Breast Cancer. I found my cancer myself through a self breast exam. My first reaction was to think nothing could possibly be wrong because I was is good health, my age and the fact that I have NO family history of cancer. BOY WAS I WRONG! I have been diagnosed with Stage 2b Breast Cancer and underwent a double mastectomy on June 16th, 2015. Since the cancer has spread to my lymph nodes I will begin chemotherapy, followed by radiation in the next few weeks.Through my diagnosis I am determined to spread awareness that cancer DOES NOT have an age limit and young women my age need to be screened for early detection.
Though this is by far the hardest fight I have had to face in my life I need to be strong for my family, supportive husband and most importantly my two beautiful young sons. Their ages are 2 and 3 years old and to them I am a superhero that can face anything because in their words"mommy is super strong and brave". Which, to be honest sometimes I dont feel very brave or strong, but if my sons can look at me every day and tell me its ok mommy you can do it, then I MUST fight and be strong!
I am a pre-k teacher in East Orange, NJ and this cancer has forced me to take a leave from my passion of educationing young children which makes me that much more determined to get back  my classroom. I am asking for donations to help with my medical expenses as well as help for childcare for my 2 small children while i am undergoing treatments. I appreciate everyone's help and support during this difficult time. I hope I can inspire other young women like myself and spread awareness. Thank you for any contribution you can give.
