Even though fall is in the air, spring is on Pantone's mind. As the color authority for the design industry, they have to work several seasons ahead to stay on top of trends. That's why they decided to reveal the upcoming hues for spring 2017 at the end of New York Fashion Week. The results? Let's just say color is going to be bold and bright next year.

The Pantone Color Institute says there are 10 colors we should expect to see popping up in the spring, many of which have a "healthy" or nature-inspired vibe. But how did they choose those hues? "You have to look at things and ask would people say, 'I love that color. I want it now,' Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute told Women's Wear Daily. "For us, it also plays into that whole idea of transitional seasons and offering options that are not just typical of seasons."

Below are some of our favorite colors from their new palette — starting with a green called "Kale."
