Assault, Surfers Paradise

Gold Coast police are investigating after a bus driver was assaulted at Surfers Paradise this morning.

Around 11.10am two males and a female entered the bus after it stopped at a bus stop located in the southbound lanes of Remembrance Drive, between Enderley Avenue and Surfers Paradise Boulevard.

The female paid her fare but the two males sat down without paying and were told to leave the bus if they would not pay.

As one of the males was exiting the bus he struck the 47-year-old driver once in the face, causing pain and superficial injuries.

The trio was last seen walking down Remembrance Drive.
