Unlawful wounding charge, Cannonvale

Police have charged a 60-year-old man following an incident at a residence in Cannonvale early this morning.

It will be alleged around 6.30am a man stuck a 33-year-old man with a blunt implement before wounding him with a knife.

The man was transported to Proserpine Hospital with head and facial injuries and cuts to his neck and arms.

The pair is known to each other.

A 60-year-old Cannonvale man has been charged with one count each of unlawful wounding and assault occasioning bodily harm.

He is due to appear in the Proserpine Magistrates Court on Monday.
