Fix Stony Kill Farm's Fence
Donation protected
The Stony Kill Farm is located in the beautiful Hudson Valley. The Verplanck family generously donated this farm to to be used and enjoyed for agricultural education. Due to budget woes four years ago, Stony Kill Farm came very close to being closed . The Stony Kill Foundation (a group of volunteers) were permitted to keep the farm open, but Stony Kill's Funding was drastically reduced . We have stayed open and continued to offer educational programs, school field trips, free family festivals, hiking, and community garden plots, etc. to the local community. We have raised some funds, but it always just enough to feed our cows, chicken, sheep, and pigs and pay their vet bills.
Now our pasture fence is in desperate need of repair. Our fence is more than 50 years old and has seen better days.We need to raise $8,000 to fix the fence. If we can't get the fence fixed we won't be able to let the animals out into the pasture. We can't keep the animals if we can't let them outside. The local children love seeing our animals so much ! It would be heartbreaking to disappoint them. We won't be Stony Kill Farm without the animals ! Please help us fix our farm's fence.
