Update: Burglary with violence, South Brisbane

Dutton Park detectives have charged a man following the assault of a girl during the break and enter of a home in South Brisbane yesterday.

Police will allege a 15-year-old girl disturbed a man inside a Dorchester Street address around 4.30pm.

It will be further alleged that a violent altercation took place between the two, before the girl managed to break free and flee to a neighbouring address.

The girl sustained a laceration to her mouth, bruising and abrasions to her neck and legs, and a bite wound on her hand.

A 20-year-old Manly West man has been charged with one count each of burglary, assault occasioning bodily harm, deprivation of liberty and torture.

He appeared briefly before a Magistrate this afternoon.

He is scheduled to reappear in the Wynnum Magistrates Court on Thursday.
