Rate this book
Ezekiel Chambers knew he would never find a woman that would allow him to marry and though he longed for a happy family life since his business life was so successful, his father was never going to give one inch to grant him that opportunity. Reluctantly, he is convinced to go to his high school reunion, but upon meeting the mysterious woman, Ezekiel forgets what he wants and focuses on what he desires. Too bad he won't be able to keep her. When Grae is given the opportunity to sleep with the man of her dreams since high school without him knowing her identity, this shy reclusive young woman steps outside of her shell and transforms herself into the woman of his dreams. This book started with a lot of promise. The first love scene with the honey, I though to myself wow this is going to be good, but it just fell a bit flat for me. There were a few good parts in the book, but what really irked me is that everyone seemed to beat Grae down so much, including herself. It almost felt as though no one was truly on her side except her friend Prince. Prince was the only one who didn't lie to Grae, and always had her best interest at heart. Yes Grae was an ugly duckling when she was in High School and everyone in this book kept hounding on the fact that she was so beautiful now, but even by the last pages in the book she still had such low self worth for herself. I was really hoping she would make some sort of inner progress with herself by then but she was still struggling with those old issues. Zeke, although he was an a$$ to almost everyone in the book other than Grae, I really liked his character. He said it how he meant it, and didn't hold anything back. He was a bit brute at times, but what he went through in the past made his behavior understandable but not acceptable.

SPOILERS:
I was left with a few unanswered questions in the end: did Zeke and Grae get married, what happened to the baby, did Zeke and Gus eventually resolve their issues, what became of Parson's daughter. I think we were left hanging a bit in the end.

Overall the story was an ok read, but not one that I would recommend.

This book has so many twist and turns -- PERFECT!!! I finished the ebook and my fingers flew to Amazon to order the paperback. The heroine was 100% different then a Hubbard Heroine -- LOVED HER!!! And my boy Ezekial officially dethroned each and everyone of her previous heroes. Ezekial was bound and determine to fight his feelings, to the very end he was the spoiled little school boy bully (in a good way). Then he had to give up the ghost. The heroine had me from page one. She has the perfect name: Grae. Ezekial and Grae. Ms. Hubbard (like the other QUEENS of Gamma Guys) is not afraid to show the worse in her hero. I admire that so much. Ezekial is not for everyone. But if you like a gamma gup with a lovable no nonsense heroine with tunnel vision for the people she loves -- this is the book for you.

The blurb for the book does not do it justice. It's hard to really explain the plot without giving tooo much away. The title is so fitting: Secrets, Lies & Family Ties. Oh yeah.

Story of Grae Reed who suffered many tragedies early in life. She crushes on Zeke as an adilescent & us reunited with him at a class reunion. Ok plotlines with too many aha surprises in the long run. Not one of the dads loved their kid in this tale
