California man apparently drowns while snorkeling off Kauai

POIPU, KAUAI (HawaiiNewsNow) - A 64-year-old visitor from California apparently drowned Friday while snorkeling in waters off Waiohai Beach.
A bystander brought the man to shore, after spotting him floating face down 75 yards from the shoreline about 4:10 p.m.
Lifeguards performed CPR on the victim until medics arrived on scene and took over.
The man was transported to Wilcox Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
