Macy Moore and Isaiah Minick win ASC Scholar-Athlete Medal of Honor

Belton, Texas – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's basketball player Macy Moore and men's soccer player Isaiah Minick have been named the UMHB winners of the American Southwest Conference Scholar-Athlete Medal of Honor. The ASC Scholar-Athlete Medal of Honor is presented to one male and one female member of the graduating class who has compiled the most outstanding record in academics, athletics and leadership over their collegiate career. The awards are presented annually by the Faculty Athletic Representative at each conference member institution.
           
Macy Moore is a senior guard for the Cru women's basketball team from Cypress Falls High School and she is majoring in mathematics. She was the 2014 ASC Women's Basketball Distinguished Scholar-Athlete and is a two-time member of the ASC Women's Basketball Distinguished Scholar-Athlete Team. Moore was a three-time ASC Academic All-Conference selection and also earned Second Team All-Conference honors as a junior. She was voted to the ASC Championship Tournament All-Tournament Team and ranked among the team leaders in scoring, rebounding and assists. Moore was a four-year letter winner and served as a team captain for the Cru. She was active in numerous community service projects during her UMHB career and also carries a 3.92 GPA.
           
Isaiah Minick is a senior defender for the Cru men's soccer team from Grace International School in Chang Mai, Thailand and he is majoring in economics. He was a Capital One Academic All-District selection and a two-time member of the ASC Men's Soccer Distinguished Scholar-Athlete Team. Minick was a three-time ASC Academic All-Conference selection and was also a three-time ASC All-Conference pick. He was a four-year letter winner and was one of the Cru's top defenders each season. Minick participated in numerous community service projects on campus and in the Central Texas community and he also went on a mission trip to Bermuda with the UMHB men's soccer program. He was selected to serve as a University Ambassador, one of the most prestigious student honors available at UMHB and Minick also maintains a 3.98 GPA.
           
Recipients of the ASC Scholar-Athlete Medal of Honor represent 15 different conference sports and include individuals who graduated with academic honors or hold admissions to graduate-level programs; are members of academic honor societies and campus organizations; competed on national, conference or division title teams; earned ASC All-Academic, Distinguished Scholar-Athlete, All-Conference or All-Division honors; and who served as volunteers, tutors and teachers within their campus, community and church groups.
