Dear Pianists

Here is a list of upcoming events for the rest of the year. With over 100 students on our roster, our events get fully booked months in advance so early entry is advised. We have regular performance opportunities so that all students can participate at least once a year.

Summer Exam Reminder
Summer Exam Candidates must make their exam entry before Saturday 2nd of May. All entrants have been emailed instructions on how to make the online entry but at least half have not acknowledged receipt of the email, therefore any candidates not entering this time will be entered in November/December. Early entry is advised in case you have any problems with the online form. You must speak to your teacher in the lesson this week if you are unable to use the entry form as this is the last lesson to register with assistance. All piano/theory candidates that have entered have received email confirmation of their entry. Harpsichord entries are finalised and I will be in touch with you once I hear from the exam boards (Amy, Jo, Samson, Boo, Francis, Hannah, Miri).

Summer School Trip to Finchcocks Musical Museum

Saturday 20 June 2015
Suitable for all ages, grade 1+ to advanced. Steven Devine from the Finchcocks Educational Team leads a masterclass at a Georgian manor in Kent. Selected students from the masterclass will be invited to perform at the prestigious Broadwood Harpsichord Competition Under 18s class this November at the Horniman Museum and Gardens.

Play with a live jazz band!

The Higgledy Piggledy Jazz Band return to St Barts in Sydenham. You can pick any piece from Piano Trip to London or Higgledy Piggledy Jazz to play with the band. Only pieces by Elena Cobb will be performed at the event.

Melvyn Cooper Masterclass

EPTA London SE is a newly launched region of the European Piano Teachers’ Association and we were delighted that Melvyn Cooper hosted a masterclass for us at St Barts in Sydenham. Melvyn covered repertoire from Leopold Mozart to Scriabin and had insightful feedback for all pianists from beginner to advanced.
