Husband Diagnosed w/ Crohn's

I have created this account for my husband Patrick Kelly.On Monday, September 15, 2014, (after the results of a colonoscopy, endoscopy, and bloodwook) had returned, Patrick was officially diagnosed with Crohn's Disease.  He has been in and out of the hospital, Doctor's offices, as well as the GI Specialist's office for the past few months.He has been put on medication, and his doctor has us monitoring his flare-ups closely over the next couple of weeks. After 2 weeks, they are going to have him consume a small camera pill to find out where exactly the disease is, as well as the serverity of it. If it is mild to moderate, they should be able to treat on medication alone. If not, he will have to go through surgery.He is currently on short-term disability, but it is not enough to take care of his family, let alone all the constant medical bills. I am working full time in a hospital and trying my best to cover what I can, but I have just enough to pay rent, food, and utilities. Please help as he starts his journey to defeat Crohn's Disease. Every little bit counts and is greatly appreciated. Thank You.


Information about Crohn's Disease:

Crohn's is an inflammatory bowel disease that affects a part of the gastrointestinal tract.

Symptoms include: Sharp abdominal pain, diarrhea (which could be bloody), fever and weight loss.

Other complications: Anemia, rashes, arthritis, eye inflammation, tiredness, bowel obstruction, it can also cause kidney and liver problems. People with this disease are at greater risk for bowel cancer.

Causes: Comination of genetics, environment, immune and bacterial factors. It results in a chronic inflammatory disorder, in which the body's immune system attacks the gastrointestinal tract.

THERE ARE NO MEDICATIONS OR SURGICAL PROCEDURES THAT CAN CURE CROHN'S.
The treatments only help with symptoms, maintain remission, and prevent relapse.
