The Carroll Creek Rotary Club has sponsored the biggest ceiling splash EVER!  Frederick Memorial Hospital Pediatric Unit received a mountain of ceiling tile scenes custom-designed by Splashes of Hope in collaboration with the enthusiastic hospital staff.
Carroll Creek Rotarians Terry O'Malley, Fred Genau and Rick Miller chose their favorite ceiling tile with the theme of "Service Above Self."
On Wednesday, March 19th, 2014 Splashes of Hope and Rotarians from the Carroll Creek Club delivered the artwork to Frederick Memorial Hospital to be installed above each patient bed and each examination table in the Pediatric Unit.

"We thank the Rotary Club for this generous donation. The artwork on the ceilings will help our nurses distract the children during medical procedures.  It is very important to keep a child's mind occupied with positive thoughts while they are being examined as well as in recovery."

Katherine M Murray MSN, RN

Women's and Children's Service Line Director

Hospital murals for the ceilings!
The 26 hand-painted ceiling tiles measure 2-ft by 4-ft each are painted in child-friendly underwater scenes. Each tile has a unique design to engage the eye of a bedridden child and to provide imagery that will take their imaginations beyond hospital walls.

Artists Sarah Baecher and Jimmy Knapp with stacks of ceiling scenes
Splashes of Hope artist Sarah Baecher (pictured above) will be stationed in Neavitt MD for the next six months.
Sarah is the lead artist in charge of splashing scenes throughout the entire Pediatric Unit of Frederick Memorial Hospital. The delivery of the ceiling tiles is the first phase of the mission to transform the Pediatric Unit with artwork.
Questions for the artist?

The tiles have all been installed in the Pediatric Unit of Frederick Memorial Hospital to assist in the healing process for children during their recovery from illness or injury.
