Demand Greater Accountability for Oil Spill Cleanup in Canada!

Approximately 2,800 Litres of oil were spilled of the North Shore of Vancouver on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 8th. During the weekend, residents are being told to stay away from the beaches and keep dogs leashed.

The company responsible for the oil spill is still unknown. It is important that the company responsible be found, and accept full responsibility for funding the clean-up.

Make sure the company responsible for the Vancouver Oil spill takes financial responsibility!

Update #19 years ago
The company behind the recent spill in English Bay has pledged to pay for the cost of cleanup. Unfortunately, due to a slow official response the damage to the area was far greater than it should have been.

The fact that the spill was allowed to spread uncontrolled for 7 hours highlights the need for the closed Kitsilano Canadian Coast Guard Station be reopened to help limit the impact of future disasters. Please continue signing to demand the government do more to prevent future oil spills!
