Thelma Yashinsky is an 84 year old great grandmother who recently lost her husband of 61 years as well as 2 life long friends.

Thelma was in a car accident. She was the driver. This accident is what took the lives of her husband, her friends and injured 2 others in a separate vehicle.

Thelma was not under the influence of alcohol, nor was she under the influence of drugs. Thelma did not set out that day intending to have her life, and the life of her family turned upside down. This incident is the very definition of the word accident. Yet, Oconto County District Attorney, Edward Burke, has brought criminal charges against Thelma Yashinsky. Homicide by Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle. 3 counts. 

Thelma, 84 years old, lost her husband, her friends, and is now facing prison, for an accident. An accident that has already given Thelma a sentence far worse than any court could impose. 

These charges are outrageous, cruel and unwarranted. Please sign this petition asking Wisconsin State Attorney, Brad Schimel, to dismiss these charges.
